↵* A. Louis McGarry. M.D., is Massachusetts' director of legal medicine for the department of mental health, and co-principal investigator, National Institute of Mental Health research project “Assessment of Adequacy of Treatment.”
A graduate of Harvard College and Boston University Medical School, he is lecturer on psychiatry at Harvard Medical School's Laboratory of Community Psychiatry.
His most recent publications include “Overview: Current Trends in Mental Health Law,” “1971 Massachusetts Mental Health Code: Promise and Performance,” and “Conditional Voluntary Mental Hospital Admission.”
